Rugby has never been more popular. Since the inaugural Rugby World Cup in 1987, rugby has seen massive growth. The last Rugby World Cup, held in France, generated audiences rivalling both the Olympics and the World Cup of Soccer which, until now, had bragging rights for global viewing figures. It is no wonder that Rugby has also seen a significant increase in participation, both regionally and nationally.

The Wainuiomata NZ Samoan Rugby Community (WNZS) was founded in May 2010 and caters for men and women of all ages. Currently the WNZS has a strong base in Wellington. The long-term aim of the Team is to be ambassadors for rugby in New Zealand, Asia and the U.S where they will travel to these parts of the world playing in rugby 10''s and 7''s tournaments. On tour the team coach schools of all ages and clubs, also perform a pacific traditional dance show. In addition the WNZS will offer online coaching clinic programs every month to thousands of coaches, players and clubs throughout the rugby world. These coaching clinics will be run by current and ex All Blacks and Manu Samoa international players.
